After reading Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World I found the notion of consciousness vs subconscious very intriguing.  The blackbox is where the subconscious settles.  It contains the crucial data extracted from one's daily experience,  and with it the blackbox constructs the end of the world.   Therefore, there are parallels between the real world and the end of the world. 

To express this idea architecturally, I was interested in constructing a space that would illustrate how the conscious and subconscious relate to each other,  to show that the influence of one on the other can be ultimately symbiotic in nature.
