"Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world"
Haruki Murakami uses daily events and things that are so common that we have almost forgetten in an extraordinary way. The silance elevator, the shadow, the mind, the kitchen, the air, the light...all were given a new perspective. A shadow represents the other part of oneself, this, i think is very impressing. The process of separating the "body from the shadow" itself is a metamorphosis. New life can start from the bases of the past, however, it shouldn't follow the same old path. Having said that, the End of the World is a turning point to another path.
