HAY HOOK The hay hook is used to ease the burden of moving heavy bails of hay from the loft to the stables below. The hook is thurst into the end of the bail and allows the user to lift the load without damaging the tender palm of the hand. It is also a remnant of the blacksmithing trade. The crude simplicity of the tool is emblematic of a time when labor was manual and not digitial.
