reflections 1

Mirrors and reflections are elements in my grandfather's works that I have always been drawn to. The top image shows two panes of glass perpendicular to each other. When you look into the glass you are trapped. No matter where you go you see yourself in the mirror. When you position yourself directly in front of the seam between the two mirrors you see yourself as others see you. You are seeing a reflection of a reflection.

The lower images show a piece that uses the same principles. This piece however has a cutout of a standing man protruding straight out the middle. In this case, opposite to one above, you can never see yourself, no matter where you stand.
