description Alvar Aalto is one of the few architects that was able to both design and have constructed his visions of what a town centre should be. Although each town centre shown below serves different populations with different needs, a few programs are found common to all: library, town (community) centre, and a theatre, as well as significant open space dedicated to both park and plaza.
