Construction of CP railroad tracks and of Port of Montreal towards east in 1883- Pump station built in 1887 after major floodings in 1886

Construction of Jacques-Cartier Bridge (1920's) over dense existing urban fabric
Construction of Ville-Marie expressway in the 1970's - Bridge and expressway destructure urban fabric
Area transformed into urban desert devoted to circulation axes - Pump station not in function since 1950's - It was used twice (2002 and 2004) for events by Champ Libre who intends to eventually occupy it permanently as an electronic arts and media diffusion center.
