Taking something that we can potentially see, touch, buy, eat, use, enjoy in everyday life :: interrupting the habit in order to observe, to imagine :: the sticker that labels it, the cover that veils it, the box that contains it, its identity stamped on the side of the box: WAXWED CLEMENTINES - PRODUCT OF MORROCCO :: memory, the imaginary memory, emerges. This is what I intend to do, whether it is with an object, a building, or a site: slow down, look at it, trace its history, and from there, extend the lines and imagine its memory. “Contrairement à ce que son étymologie laisse penser, l’imagination n’est pas la faculté de se former des images de la réalité, mais plutôt de se former des images de l’invisible.” (Illich, Ivan. H2O: les eaux de l'oubli,1985) |
