Red: site location
Light gray: Notre Dame street bordering the site and Saint-Jacques on the upper left end of the site map
Dark gray: Grand Truck Railway bordering the site from rear side
Light gray, far to the right: Lachine Canal

The site is bordered by Notre Dame Street on one side and the train tracks of Grand Truck Railway on the otter. It occupies a triangular shape of mainly empty land, with some existing buildings along Notre Dame Street; some of which are going to be kept because of their historic importance and some that are going to be demolished. The site offers great challenges, it is at the same time very limiting but, on the other hand, very interesting and open to inventive possibilities. Given the nature of the program and institution that will be located here, the project will result, at the same time, in a larger urban gesture, extending beyond the designated site.
