Jean Nouvel
Jean Nouvel was announced a winner of an international competition for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation new Concert Hall. For the design proposal Nouvel includes a series of volumes that are enclosed in a rectangular box with transparent screen walls. This will allow for the building to constantly change, depending from the time of the day and lightning condition, both revealing and canceling the interior. This dematerialization of materials will help in creating the interface and relationship between the inside and outside, and will help for building to be more communicative to the visitor.

The Concert Hall is raised ten meters above street level, with the upper Foyer under its “belly”, giving the impression of a big wooden sculpture. Escalators and elevators in the upper Foyer lead to the different levels of the Concert Hall. |
