This project was designed to transform an existing home for the aged into a world-class, state-of-the-art CCRC. The resulting campus combines formal Georgian elements with Shingle-style cottages to give a pleasing range of scale and living options for the residents. The first of the three planned phases is now complete. The completed work to date includes an all private room, cluster-designed, nursing care facility; new independent living, apartment-style units; garden homes; and renovated assisted living units. This phase also includes an indoor pool, wellness clinic, walking paths, vehicular circulation, site lighting and furnishings. All were carefully designed to blend with and complement the arboretum quality of the historic grounds and architecture.

This project is situated on a pleasant site with generous vegetation. It comprises diverse housing types ranging from the semi-detached cottages for the autonomous residents to studios for the residents requiring skilled nursing. This allows for a long term establishment in the community as residents can move when their require more assistance. The historic building represents only a small part of the project as most housing units are situated in the new constructions.
