| Raising
ground - The design intention was to acknowledge
the condition of the surrounding of the site as well as the cityscape.
The proposition generated a topography that is particular to the
community and supports the continuous urban morphology of Montréal.
For this exercise, the experimentation with topography aimed to
reconciliate strong differences in height between the old Griffintown
and the city center, while framing the Lachine canal. The topography
by its nature offers views of the Peel basin or the mountain depending
on where one is located.
The arcades / Flâneur
- The redevelopment of Peel Basin proposes to regain the scar left
by the CN tracks, for it to become a main circulation space between
the community and the commercial district housed in between Bonaventure
highway and the tracks. A space that claims for sensorial experiences,
the quality of sunlight, the noise of the train over your head... |
