Raising ground - The design intention was to acknowledge the condition of the surrounding of the site as well as the cityscape. The proposition generated a topography that is particular to the community and supports the continuous urban morphology of Montréal. For this exercise, the experimentation with topography aimed to reconciliate strong differences in height between the old Griffintown and the city center, while framing the Lachine canal. The topography by its nature offers views of the Peel basin or the mountain depending on where one is located.

The arcades / Flâneur - The redevelopment of Peel Basin proposes to regain the scar left by the CN tracks, for it to become a main circulation space between the community and the commercial district housed in between Bonaventure highway and the tracks. A space that claims for sensorial experiences, the quality of sunlight, the noise of the train over your head...
