After some interesting expeditions and a good look around Montréal, the pointe-des-seigneurs’ site came out as the best location for the design of the urban funeral complex. The site can address and respond to my subject in an appropriate manner, a very tricky task for a funeral building. The site is quite interesting and challenging with its historical background. The site has a fascinating shape and a great presence of water that can results in some creative architecture. This semi-urban site is very close to the downtown Montréal, brings us a more relaxing and natural ambiance in the Saint-Henri borough. The site is located in a multicultural district that has to be taking into account. The site is at a nice location because of its pleasant views of downtown Montréal and some other Montréal landmarks like the abandoned Redpath Sugar Complex that can be seen in the background. The strong industrial presence surrounding the site gives a special essence and charm that are quite inspiring for the new complex. This site is great for many reasons: respectable dimensions, an easy access to it and a great parking space available (on the street or underground). |
