neighbourhood of Montreal’s downtown. Without imitating its direct neighbours it follows their general The house is centred on a red brick stair shaft. Each room is hung from this core independently from the other ones in order to have the ideal dimensions according to its functions. The exterior skin of the house just wraps those floor areas, creating pitched roves or terraces where needed. This arrangement permits grander spaces in the living areas and clearly defines both public and private realms.
