Propaganda for a program

Public / private: A program like la Maison des Journalistes implies a complex mixture of private and public life. The causes those journalists may defend are public issues and would benefit of some publicity. In the meanwhile, the refugee journalists are persons whose private life already suffered enough intrusions. The building needs to acknowledge those two extremes and permit a gradation in between.

"If it was you, would you want journalists asking you questions or taking photographs?" - Kenneth Kobre, News photographer, as quoted in Information Age Journalism

Neo-Propaganda: In order to explore the subjects related to journalism and liberty of speech, I draw a sequence of “propaganda” posters. I used this method to get in touch with the possible imagery and symbolism linked to this subject. Those drawings lead toward appropriate atmospheres and characteristics for the building to be. Eventually some recurring elements will gain meaning because of their previous usage.

Program: The programmatic elements are ordered by degree of privacy. Posters illustrate most of them.
