Flat landscapes are often thought to have no elevation.

In reality the perspective brings the horizon line to eyelevel. Consequently, this effect gives the land an "elevation" and a sense of weight.

The sketches above outline experiments with the interior mass of equipment and the resulting effects on the percieved weight of the landscape. These exercises are used to guide the placement of openings and study the effects of elevation from the inside looking out. The resulting views will effectively reveal elements in the surroundings which root the winery in its place.
