winter In
the winter, it appears to be a lonely, desolate site.
It sits sadly, awaiting the arrival of spring when people and
activity will fill it once more. The
whistling wind and the haunting cries of seagulls echo through the vast,
cold landscape. Only the deserted ticket booth recalls the memory that this
place was ever full of life. The arrival of skaters at the Bonsecours Basin barely animates the Pier. Visitors traverse the site to descend into the skating rink, but in their eagerness and excitement, the Pier is neglected. Shouting and laughter now drifts through the air, but the Jacques-Cartier Pier merely watches in silence, never participating.
