Basin
The Bonsecours Basin, containing Bonsecours Park and the Bonsecours Pavilion, is one of the more versatile spaces in Old Port in that it hosts activities in both cold and warm weather. In the winter, the basin serves as a large open-air skating rink that, with the aid of a system of refrigeration compressors, is able to remain open for more than 100 days every year. When the warm weather comes around, the basin can be navigated in paddleboats.
