Al Nakheel mega projects

The two Palms and the world (spotted on the map below) are exclusive communities intended for those who fancy relaxation, luxury and comfort. Hundreds of themed residences with a variety of leisure facilities Hotels and services.

 

Dubai Ski Dome ($ 272 million)

"The idea for a winter leisure and sports facility evolved in 1998 when I realized that the hot season here encouraged residents to spend their holiday and money in much cooler and enjoyable climes," said Majid Pishyar, chairman and president of 32Group, a multinational company based in Dubai.

The project, which will be spread over a 1.4-million-square-metre (15 million square foot) area, consists of a steel-structured dome that will include a huge revolving ski slope, going through and around an artificial mountain range, created to emphasize the "Arctic Experience" effect, the statement said.

It will also house a deluxe hotel, a shopping mall, restaurants, coffee shops and other retail outlets and Two huge real-ice columns marking the entrance to the dome.

 

Burj Dubai "the world's most exclusive address"

EMAAR Properties, the leading real-estate development company in the region, launched its most ambitious project to date - the Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest tower.

The company also announced the appointment of Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as the architectural design consultants for the landmark development which will set yet another record for the Emirate of Dubai.

 

The Dubai Mall (world's largest)

"The Dubai Mall" will cover nine million square feet (810,000 square metres) to nestle in the shadow of the Burj Dubai, the world`s tallest tower.

"We are expecting an annual footfall of thirty five million visitors in the first full year of business and an annualized growth in mall traffic of about 20 to 30 per cent," said Ibrahim al-Hashimi, executive director at EMAAR Properties.

"Tourism is the engine driving Dubai`s growth. We have a huge potential audience. Some 3.2 billion consumers armed with a collective gross domestic product of 18.3 trillion will be knocking on our door."

 

 

Dubai Festival City ($4+ billion)

Dubai Festival City spans over 1,600 acres on the banks of Dubai's historic Creek and is the Middle East's largest mixed-use real estate project. The development will comprise a unique mix of entertainment, dining, shopping, edutainment, sport and leisure facilities, automotive dealerships, hotels, a marina, residential and office components. For sporting enthusiasts, an 18-hole championship golf course, and other world class sporting facilities are also being incorporated in the project.

 

Seaside housing Project

One of the large and ambitious housing projects now in construction for a late 2005 deadline.

 

 

Dubai Sports City ($3 billion)

Sport in Dubai is set to be thrust into the next dimension with the official launch of Dubai Sports City (DSC), the 50 million square foot development that will be one of the star attractions of the mega $7 billion Dubailand project.

 

 

Hydropolis Hotel


A $500 million underwater luxury hotel in Dubai will be the first development to be fully owned by and operated by a foreign investor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The 220-suite, bubble-like Hydropolis Hotel is to float just below the waters off the coast of Dubai’s upscale Jumeirah area.

The hotel, the brainchild of German investor, designer and architect Joachim Hauser is scheduled to open late 2006

 

In December 2003, the Leadership in Dubai announced to the satisfaction of the press, that all projects declared or underway so far in dubai, represent only 10% of the overall foreseen development.
