
Another image of the internet is that of a vast inter-connected system, with nodes relaying messages along the lines to each other. Much like the nervous system.
The server room is the central element of this nervous system, and should be accorded with a degree of architectural importance that most internet companies do not give it. If this project is to be a community of internet-related companies, the central element could be built as a separate entity, with a network of lines reaching out to all the others.
By centralising the servers, and services, it should be easy to know where to go if anything goes wrong.
