Sketchbook

Above is a sketch detailing a possible line of access across the site from the corner of Sherbrooke and Clarke to the Juste Pour Rire museum. This would necessarily bring the pedestrian in among the buildings that constitute the programme of this project. If successful, it would enliven the centre of project. If not, it would merely create a dead alley. In either case, it would probably be used during the Just For Laughs festival in the summer. The question is whether it would be used at other times ... hopefully, with the design of some further reason for an outsider to enter, it will.

Perhaps this pathway across the site could be expressed as having something of a "village" atmosphere, so that the person taking it would feel like he is strolling along a perfectly natural and logical path, rather than taking a shortcut through someone else's property. The drop in elevation could, with a few ramps and stairs, contribute to an interesting environment to observe and explore.
