Is all the water a house produces waste water?  Definitely not.  More than 80% of the water that enters the sewage system comes from sinks, showers, baths, dishwashers and clothes washers.  This grey water could be safely put to other uses.  With minimal treatment, gray water can be used to flush toilets, or for irrigation.  Even black water, after being treated properly, can be used to water golf courses or other landscaping.  Water can be easily categorized by installing separate drain lines for gray and black water. A normal person can produce 200 litres of gray water per day that can be passed through a commercial filter and then be used in the garden.
