    Strawbale construction not only offers superior insulating values (R-40), but it also breaths allowing for healthy air change within a building.  It uses natuarlly abundant straw that may otherwise be burnt as farm refuse.  This is an ancient and time proven technique that could be easily and cheaply incorportated into healthy contemporary design.
