stairs for the museum of fine arts

This project was done to replace the stairs at Moshie Safdie's Museum of fine arts. The design of this stair came about as a consequence of adding both functionality and animation in the open air stair well. Thus in plan its landings, which are the longer feature in the stair, are crossed over so that at certain times a person at a landing above can see the person at the anding below.

The entire stair is in concrete, with a steel handrail that 'floats' above the stair.
