Information found in the aforementioned Montreal Light, Heat & Power Consolidated fund documents:
1. The Sœurs Hospitalières de Saint Joseph d’Hôtel Dieu de Montréal were responsible for the Saint Ann’s Ward. The area is further subdivided, the gas company holdings are located in the Fief Nazareth.
2. Lot no.1684 between Shannon and Ottawa, previously (Saint) Gabriel Street. See plan showing Methodist Church, New City Gas, and Mr. James Irwin’s property (home). The map showing the company’s holdings is dated May 15, 1865.
3. Lot no.1646, 1647, 1648, and 1685 are also mentioned.
4. In consultation, I noticed many changed street names. What has become of these streets? Cedar = de Lévis? Catherine Street show in the map above, likely became Shannon, the new name for the western border of this block. As mentioned, Gabriel Street also changed to Ottawa street prior to the map's design.
