This
collage represented an attempt to create a figurative representation
using a layering of scotch-tape transfers from weekly newspapers.
Image and text was lifted from newsprint and then affixed to a piece
of mylar with drafted pencil and a gauche wash. Once transferred, the
image was mobile in the sense that it was always possible to
reconfigure it by either moving the strips of tape or adding new
elements. The pencil as well as the gauche wash also was movable using
tape transfer method. The process was a real material analogy to
archaic versions of Photoshop. |
