CCA charette 2000

The requirement for the project was to build a new pedestrian footbridge across the Lachine canal.Our idea was to create a new bridge experience, a link that becomes a threshold; the connector between man and water. Here the pedestrians would feel as though they were walking on the surface, moving on the edge between water and sky. The design was simple, a series of panels, linked together, floating on top of the water. It would become a place for people to meet in open rooms, and engage in the experience of spaces which redefine the concept of boundaries.
