The process continues. THe program of a library is one that is a direct consequence of the site and the thesis.
In this extra technological environment, stands a neo-classical building. The programme will reflect the very nature of the site. A library is a tool for information. It is an everchanching one that relies more and more on the digital aspect of documentation.  However, it is wrong to think that the book will ever dissapear. In fact, there is growing desire for tangibility, that only a physical book can satisfy.

The entire thesis works with dualities:
preservation / development
new / old
tangible / intangible

Here, knowledge is a metaphor for architecture, the book for the existing Law Building, digital archives for the Cite Multimedia.
We cannot pretend that computers are not useful. An incredible amount of information can be stored and downloaded within seconds. Acontemporary library must adapt to both this digital component, but also, and still, to the traditional book. In fact, it must celebrate it, as not only the original information propagator but also the remedy to our growing impersonal society. The physical book symbolizes all that is tangible. It facilitates relationships, encourages interaction and provides a feeling of real.
Where digital technology satisfies our need for speed, the book brings us back to reality, slows us down to a pace, that allows us to understand all implications of the information provided.
Bookstacks are a literal indication of the actual depth contained within books. We are more at ease to see and know these things, then to press a button without knowing the incredible layering that is associated with such an action.
