The area chosen for the Thesis program is situated at the intersection of  Wellingotn St and Murray St, along the bank of the Lachine Canal.  This area underwent tremendous changes in the past century.  These alterations and interventions have left a permanent mark on the environment of the surrounding.  As the canal's prior industrial function ended and its life degenerated, what is left remaining now are not only traces of the history in which it onced flourished, but also evidences of the violence that our society incurred on the land, and thus leading to the debris that our society has abandoned, ignored, and held iresponsible for.

The existing parking space, prosposed to facilitate a  large part of the Thesis program area.
