Students rushing to submit their charette drawings at the Ecole, because typically the ateliers were removed from the direct premises of the school and organized by the students independently, including the selection of an atelier "maitre."
The rendered interior of the Paris Opera by Charles Guarnier, who was a maitre of an atelier and also hired numerous students to work in his office from the atelier he coordinated, as was typical of this school.  Furthermore, four of his employees from the Ecole went on the win the coveted Grand Prix de Rome.
