Forestry and Community Center, Castrisch, Switzerland

This center follows in the tradition of the small Swiss village in which it is situated. It has been separated into two distinct buildings with a wood shop standing along side the road like a cow stable and the community center acting as the main house. Although local wood is generally not used for construction because of its small dimension, a standard wood size of 12 cm x 12 cm was used for this building so that it would be possible. The waste was used for cladding and paneling and frame elements in the community pavilion.
