Under/Exposed is a unique photo exhibition,
taking place in the Stockholm Underground in
Sweden. Under/Exposed is a part of the
European Cultural Capital of the Year in
Stockholm.

For two weeks, the busiest underground stations
will be free from all regular advertising and turned
into an enormous gallery. 210 of the most
influential and interesting photographers in the
world today are invited to exhibit their
photographs on giant Underground billboards. A
total of 716 works will be seen by more than 1,5
million curious citizens and tourists.

Never before have so many photographers from
all over the world, representing the varied nature
of photography, participated in the same
exhibition. Neither have their photographs been
displayed in such huge formats and to so many
people.

The idea behind the exhibition is that the public
experience art in an ordinary setting, to offer a
break from the constant pressure of advertising,
and make people reflect and find their own
interpretation of the pictures in front of them. It's
ment to show world class photographs to people
who rarely or never visit galleries.
