WORK STRUCTURE
EXERCISE
1: RE-PRESENT
The first one week exercise concerns precedents, and will be used to develop your individual interests and hone your representation skills. The final 11x17 presentation should be exhibition quality and self-explanatory. Students will be allowed brief 1-minute presentations. The projects will be installed in rooms 101 and 102 by Monday, 15 September, and the review (all 4 sections) will take place that afternoon from 1-6.

2: MUCS
Phase 1 ‚ Group Research/site analysis
Apart from simulating the reality of practice, the team structure encourages communication and objectivity, permits the pooling of resources for greater efficiency, and tests the presumption of the possibility of consensus and commonality inherent in the ideology of both urban design and sustainability. Programming focuses clarity, objectivity and imagination in assimilating and synthesizing a vast quantity of information. It also highlights theoretical assumptions about the nature of design as it relates to culture, technology etc.
Phase 2 ‚ Site and building development: individual work
This phase emphasizes the issues of urban design, building tectonics and systems, program interpretation, spatial organisation, character and composition, sensitivity to materials and details, etc.
