While the Fender Telecaster has many different model lines, there are general physical characteristics that distinguish the Telecaster from any other guitar. The following diagram should help those unfamiliar with the terminology of guitars to better identify the different parts.

· One piece maple neck.
· Solid Poplar body
· Diecast machine heads (tuning keys)
· 21 frets
· 2 single coil pickups
· Chrome volume knob and chrome tone knob
· 3 way toggle switch
· 25" length
· Single cutaway below neck
The Telecaster also comes in many different colours adn finishes depending on the specific model. The most famous colors are the all natural finish, cream, black and sunburst.
