Brown Bag Lecture Series: The Expanding Universe of the Indian Temple

Professor Adam Hardy from the Welsh School of Architecture is coming next Tuesday for a lecture on Indian temple architecture. Professor Hardy's research is focused on Indian temple architecture (Buddhist, Hindu, Jain). His work has embraced most of the subcontinent with a very long time span, bringing to light a meaningful way of looking at what at first sight seem bewilderingly complex structures.

Bring your own cup, come and join for an eye-opening and relaxing lecture and learn about Indian temples while having some Chai tea!

Wright, Early Dutch, and California Modernism

Raymond Neutra (son of Richard Neutra) will give a special lecture this Wednesday in Room 212 on Californian Modernism. A unique opportunity not to be missed!

Chris Lasch Workshop
As part of the 2015-2016 lecture series, on Monday, October 26, Chris Lasch will give a lecture about algorithmic design. Mr. Lasch has agreed also to give a workshop on algorithmic design the previous day, Sunday, October 25, thanks to the efforts of professor David Newton and professor David Theodore, and the generous support of the Engineering Undergraduate Support Fund.

This workshop is limited to 15 people. A sign up sheet can be found in the 2nd floor hall. It will be held Sunday, October 25, from 9am until 5pm in room 212. Students who are interested are required to stay at the workshop for its entirety.

Students will need to have their own laptops with Rhino and the latest version of grasshopper installed. Lunch and coffee will be provided.

IPLAI Welcome Party and Slide Slam
The Institute for the Public Life of Arts+ Ideas of McGill is inviting you to their welcome party and open house on October 23, 2015. Faculty fellows past and present will present on their team-taught PLAI courses and discuss their time at IPLAI Slam Style -- 2 minutes, 2 slides then followed by a 5 a 7.

Reminder MAQ Young Critic in Architecture Competition
The MAQ Young Critic in Architecture Competition is open to all Canadian architecture students. There is a $1000 prize and the winner will be published in Canadian Architect magazine (French submissions in Nouveau Projet). The deadline for submissions is November 17th.
